The Top Dogs calendar has become a fun annual tradition within the roofing community, highlighting the special connection roofers share with their loyal dogs who stand by on jobsites, on the road and at home. From mutts to purebreds, every dog has a chance to win.

From now through November 5, 2025, QXO customers are invited to submit one or two photos of their dogs through the official contest page, go.qxo.com/topdog. Submissions must also include a brief explanation of why their dog deserves to be named a “Top Dog” in the 2026 TRI-BUILT Top Dogs calendar alongside Blu, TRI-BUILT’s mascot, and 12 TRI-BUILT products. Individuals who submit a nomination will receive a copy of the 2026 calendar, which will be distributed nationwide to celebrate the bond between roofers and their best companions.

A panel of QXO representatives will select 12 winning entries to appear in the 2026 TRI-BUILT Top Dogs calendar and receive a $1,000 donation to their favorite local rescue organization. Winners will be announced on November 18, 2025.

Twelve dogs have been selected to be featured alongside Blu, TRI-BUILT’s mascot, designed to be recognizable with TRI-BUILT and represent trust and partnership. The winners’ owners will also receive $1,000 for their rescue mission of choice.

A panel of judges selected the 12 winners. The printed TRI-BUILT Top Dogs 2025 calendars will be available this winter for to the first 25,000 customers that purchase a TRI-BUILT product at any Beacon branch throughout the U.S.

It’s that time of year again – time to let your dog fetch the spotlight in the TRI-BUILT® Top Dogs Calendar Contest! Think your pup has what it takes to be paws-itively famous? Submit one to two photos of your four-legged friend by October 23, 2024, for a chance to see them shine!  

Participating is a walk in the park! Simply snap some photos, tell us why your dog is Top Dog material, let the judges take it from there. Twelve lucky pups will be featured in TRI-BUILT's 2025 calendar alongside Blu, TRI-BUILT's trusted mascot. As a symbol of trust and partnership, Blu represents the loyalty that TRI-BUILT customers value – just like the bond between you and your dog. 

With their bark-worthy moment of fame, each winning dog’s owner will receive $1,000 to donate to their favorite local animal rescue, helping support the important work of saving pets in need. Each nominee will receive a copy of the 2025 Top Dogs calendar, plus a TRI-BUILT portable dog water bottle.

Hear from veterans about their experience with K9s For Warriors. 

Grab your tissues! Our latest Coffee Conversations is one of our most moving episodes to date. During this episode, sponsored by Beacon Building Products and TRI-BUILT®, we shine a spotlight on K9s For Warriors, an organization that provides service dogs to military veterans. We spoke with two veterans whose lives were changed by their service dog, as well as representatives from Beacon and K9s For Warriors. 

K9s For Warriors’ mission is to end veteran suicide by providing them with service dogs. Kiersan Cue, a development manager for the organization, tells us that roughly 20 veterans die by suicide every day and it’s their mission to change that. The majority of their dogs are rescue dogs as well, so the bond created between them and the veterans is a two-way street. 

“We will not stop until 20 a day becomes zero a day,” she said. “We call it saving lives at both ends of the leash.” 

Chelsea Oesch, the marketing director for private label at Beacon, tells us that one of the company’s pillars is helping veterans. The company began their partnership with K9s For Warriors in 2022 by sponsoring a warrior pair (a dog and a veteran). Since then, their work with the organization has grown. 

“In 2024, at our Beacon Leadership Summit, we partnered with 12 of our TRI-BUILT vendor partners to support us alongside giving more back to K9 for Warriors,” she said. “So those 12 vendor partners committed to dogs, along with our original commitment, and we were able to give a $400,000 donation to K9 For Warriors, which equates to 16 warrior pairs, saving 32 lives.” 

We got to hear from two veterans whose lives have been changed by this organization. Joe Moreno, a Navy veteran, and Bill Lins, a Marine Corps veteran. The two shared their difficult experiences of returning home and how K9s For Warriors changed their lives. 

“My dog’s name is Eagle. He's a highly energetic goofball of a dog. We couldn't have been a better match,” Joe shared. “He's really been a game changer... And really the thing with a dog is, they don't judge you and they don't really care.” 

“He doesn't let me out of his sight ever,” Bill said when discussing his own dog Link. “And to have that around all day long, every single day is a really remarkable thing. You can do all of the therapy in the world, but none of it is 24 hours a day. None of it is seven days a week. And that's what these dogs offer.”

The winners of TRI-BUILT's Top Dog Contest will be featured in their 2024 Top Dog Calendar.  

Every dog has its day, and for the 12 winners of TRI-BUILT®’s 2023 Top Dog contest, today is theirs! Each year, they choose 12 dogs to be featured in their Top Dog calendar. Winners of the contest also receive a $1,000 prize donation to their favorite rescue mission.  

Roofers from all over the nation submitted to this contest, but there could only be 12 top dogs. Here are the winners of TRI-BUILT's 2023 Top Dog contest: 

Brooklyn  

January’s dog, Brooklyn, was submitted by Gunner Roofing in Stamford, Connecticut. She is a certified service dog and the official greeter at the Gunner offices. Her owner, Andrew, describes her as an “all-around Chief Pet Officer who brings joy, positivity and love to our work family.” 

Lynyrd 

February’s dog, Lynyrd, was submitted by Bliss Roofing in Clackamas, Oregon. He is a blue heeler who loves playing fetch and often comes to work with his mom. Mandy, his owner, says, “He is the perfect yard manager, always herding the roofers in the right direction!” 

Maple 

March’s dog, Maple, was submitted by Storm Restorations of America in Highlandville, Missouri. She paved the way for their offices to be more dog friendly by being one of the first dogs to share the space with the employees. Maple’s owner, Bailey, says, “She has the biggest heart, and is the best dog a person could ask for.” 

Blue Sanchez 

April’s dog, Blue Sanchez, was submitted by Roofs By Don in Marietta, Georgia. She is the company mascot and is often found running around at the office. Donavan Morgan, CEO of Roofs By Don, says, “Blue is always around when you need a helping paw.” 

Mya 

May’s dog, Mya, was submitted by Jet Strem Guttering & Lighting in Overland Park, Kansas. She is a 13-year-old lab who greets all their customers at the door. Her owner, Tammy, says, “She's cheap labor and only asks for scratches and treats.” 

Fred 

June’s dog, Fred, was submitted by 360 Roofing in Austin, Texas. Fred was rescued three years ago after being found on a backcountry road. After overcoming many health obstacles, he is now the office dog and their vice president of marketing! His owner, Bryan, says, “His unwavering loyalty and incredible journey from rescue to executive make him top dog material.” 

Walker 

July’s dog, Walker, was submitted by Artisan Roofing Systems in Tucson, Arizona. He is a spunky Australian Shepherd who loves to swim and help out at the office. His owner, LaRynn, says, “With his spunky, sassy personality, he makes every workday better!” 

Emmerich 

August’s dog, Emmerich, was submitted by Bob’s Roofing Company in Whitehall, Mississippi. He is a 10-month-old wirehaired dachshund who is described by his owner Leah as ‘spicy’. She says, “He loves adventures outdoors and ‘helping’ out at the office every day.” 

Gunner and Rip 

September’s dogs, Gunner and Rip, were submitted by S & N Industries in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. They are two loyal and loving dogs who love going to work, so long as they get a chance to play around. Their owner, Sarah, says, “It is like having two cuddly Black Bears that always cheer you up after a long day.” 

Ruby 

October’s dog, Ruby, was submitted by Vareika Construction in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts. She is a sweet boxer who loves coming to work at the Vareika offices. Her owner, Kate, says, “Her favorite office visitor is our mail lady who gives her extra love and treats.” 

Allie 

November’s dog, Allie, was submitted by Empire Construction in Wallingford, Connecticut. She was rescued in 2016 and spends every day at the office and visiting job sites. Her owner, David, says, “We couldn’t ask for a better coworker or family member!” 

Brady 

December’s dog, Brady, was submitted by Daco Worldwide in Davie, Florida. He is described as a gentle giant who thinks he is human! His owner, Josie, says, “He loves to give hugs and kisses and everyone he meets he just wants to be their friend.”

If you own a dog, you probably already have countless photos on your phone of them doing silly things or sleeping in the yard that you show off in every conversation. With the TRI-BUILT® Top Dog Calendar Contest, you can submit these photos of your furry friend and you’ll have a chance to give back and have them featured in the 2024 TRI-BUILT Top Dog Calendar. Simply take one or two photos of your dog and explain why they are top dog material! Nominations can be submitted now through October 17, 2023, and twelve winners will not only have their dog featured in next year’s calendar but will also receive $1,000 donation toward their favorite animal rescue. 

A panel of judges will vote on the top twelve featured images and even if your dog isn’t selected, all entries will receive a TRI-BUILT dog Lego kit and calendar by December 2023. Winners will be announced by November 7, 2023. If you don’t already, you can also find TRI-BUILT's mascot, Blu, on Instagram and become a part of Blu’s friends!  

This calendar contest is just one way that TRI-BUILT gives back. They’ve also partnered with K9s for Warriors to sponsor the training of service dogs. Every time you purchase a TRI-BUILT product, you are helping save a dog from kill shelters. They are then trained as service dogs and paired with veterans suffering with physical or mental disabilities from serving our country.
