RCAW's 13th Annual Salmon Derby Competition

July 31, 2026 | Point Defiance Marina, Tacoma | Dawn to 2pm

Join RCAW Members and friends at the 13th Annual Salmon Derby at the Point Defiance Marina, on July 31, 2026, starting at DAWN, all Salmon MUST be weighed by 2pm at the Point Defiance Marina. Enjoy a nice day fishing in areas 10, 11, 13 (Please double check areas are open, prior to event), eating a delicious hot dog from the Starvin' Marvin Hotdog Truck, listening to the grooving' Billy Shew Band and networking with roofing professionals. 

The first-place winner will get your name on the infamous RCAW Salmon Derby Trophy, $1,000 and bragging rights are on the line. $750 for 2nd Place, $500 for 3rd Place, $300 All Weighed Fish Drawing and $100 Best Photo of the Day!

You MUST check-in at the RCAW Registration Table BEFORE you weigh your fish to get an official Salmon Derby wrist band and FREE Salmon Raffle Ticket to win an amazing prize. We will be searching for the BIGGEST salmon and hand out thousands in cash and prizes.

You can use your own boats fishing in areas, 10, 11 & 13, OR you can rent them from the Point Defiance Marina by calling (253) 404-3960 (MUST call at least 2 weeks ahead of time). You can also fish off the Point Defiance Marina Dock. Small 14’ boats with motor can be rented at the dock (Pt. Defiance Marina) for under $200 for a day to fish in the derby (25 boats) and you can rent a rod/reel set up too for about $15/day.

AND if you're really into our event, join Matthew Wallace, RCAW Board of Director, Salmon Derby Chair, along with RCAW Executive Director, Amanda Fields and other RCAW Board of Directors by taking a plunge into the ocean to cool off after the event is over.
