Cliff Johnson: A true MVP in the industry

Roofing Alliance - Cliff Johnson
August 20, 2025 at 3:00 a.m.

By Heidi J. Ellsworth.

The Roofing Alliance celebrates 2025 MVP winner Cliff Johnson, a respected figure in his community and the heart of his organization.

The Roofing Alliance’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards are among the highest honors in the roofing industry. Each year, these awards spotlight roofing professionals who lead with integrity, dedication and compassion both on the job and in their communities. The program honors individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, performance and a commitment to giving back through charitable efforts and community involvement. One such professional is Cliff Johnson.

Cliff, the 2025 MVP winner for Outstanding Community Involvement, exemplifies what it means to be a true leader. As a driver for QXO in Rochester, Minnesota, Cliff is more than a dependable employee. He is the heart of his organization and a respected figure in his community. Whether behind the wheel or standing in front of a training session, Cliff shows what it means to lead with humility and purpose. He sets the bar for safety and professionalism throughout the company.

For years, Cliff has volunteered his time to lead driver safety training sessions, actively supporting QXO’s safety department. These aren’t ordinary meetings. Cliff transforms them into engaging high-energy events that his coworkers look forward to. Combining his deep industry knowledge with a charismatic personality, Cliff ensures the lessons stick, reinforcing a culture of safety and growth within the company.

His impact doesn’t stop at work. Known for having a servant’s heart, Cliff devotes countless hours to serving others. He leads church projects, delivers meals to those in need and helps neighbors by shoveling snow or fixing appliances. He has also traveled to Haiti to support humanitarian efforts, always showing up ready to work, lead and care. Quiet and unassuming, Cliff is often the first to arrive and the last to leave, focused on helping others without seeking recognition.

Those who know him agree. Cliff doesn’t ask for praise, but he earns it every day. His commitment to service both professionally and personally is a powerful reminder of the values that define the roofing industry at its best. Cliff Johnson is a true MVP and a role model for all.

If someone like Cliff is part of your team, now is the time to honor them. The 2025-26 Roofing Alliance MVP Awards are open for nominations in two categories: Outstanding Performance and Leadership recognizes employees with a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, initiative and the ability to inspire and support their coworkers. Outstanding Community Involvement celebrates those who devote their time and energy to improving their communities through volunteerism, leadership and unwavering compassion.

Applications for the 2025-26 MVP Program are now open. Nominations are due on Friday, September 5, 2025. Visit the Roofing Alliance MVP page to submit your nomination and help spotlight the incredible individuals who make a difference every day.
