By Sika Roofing & Waterproofing.
Sika’s Roofing and Waterproofing Team is excited to unveil a new range of two-component, cold-applied resins: Sikalastic®-701 SF, Sikalastic®-702 and Sikalastic®-702 THX. The addition of these innovative resins expands our portfolio of long-lasting roofing and waterproofing solutions. They are ideal for demanding environments such as cooling towers and chemical containment areas, or direct-to-substrate, in recover applications or new construction.
This is a high-performance, two-component, cold-applied polyaspartic top coat designed for use in Sika’s liquid-applied membrane systems. It is used over a reinforced or unreinforced Sikalastic®-702 base or over Sikalastic 835 I, a hot spray applied pure polyurea. This top coat resin offers a self-smoothing, low-odor and VOC-compliant finish (VOC content ~3.86 g/L). With 100% solids, it meets and exceeds industry standards for environmental compliance.
These are two-component, cold-applied, self-smoothing, highly elastic, polyurea hybrid liquid roofing/waterproofing resins. Sikalastic-702 is used for standalone, reinforced or unreinforced waterproofing. Or they can be used as a base for Sikalastic-701 SF topcoat. The 702 is a paintable consistency and used on horizontal surfaces and the 702 THX (thixotropic) is a flash grade resin for vertical surfaces.
The alluring attributes of these products are their quick curing, self-smoothing properties, little to no odor, extremely low VOC’s and their chemical resistant, hard, tough, high gloss yet flexible cured finishes. The highly elastic nature of these products makes them a perfect choice for a multitude of climates and weather conditions.
These new resins reflect Sika’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, offering high-performance solutions with a reduced ecological footprint.
