Colorado Roofing Association (CRA)

The Colorado Roofing Association was established in 1978. Our commitment is to “Promote the ethics, education, and image of the roofing industry throughout the State of Colorado through the actions of its members.”

Volunteer members of the non-profit organization serve on the Board of Directors and chair the 12 active committees that ensure this commitment is met. With over 260 members statewide, the CRA has become one of the top trade associations in the Western region and professionally represents a unified voice for the industry.

Training Center

Established in 2012, the CRA Training Center will help you and/or your employees in personal development and advancement through hands-on instruction. We believe that improving your knowledge of roofing directly relates to leveraging your skills and training for increased efficiency, productivity and quality within the present job and on the jobsite. CRA Training courses have already helped over 1,200 students acquire the additional training, techniques and experience to build their skill set and confidence levels, resulting in increased productivity and effectiveness.

We provide first-hand, practical information in a hands-on setting. Roofing solutions are organized into courses that target your particular situation, equipment, safety considerations and work practices. Small classes ensure personalized training that increases sustained knowledge and enhances valuable trouble shooting techniques.

CRA’s Training Center is located at 1660 Jasper Street, Unit I in Aurora, CO and is designed specifically for roofers and roofing applications. The center is being used for our Intro to Roofing, TPO/EPDM, Metal Roofing and Roof Coatings classes. The training space is also available for rent to our members and non-member contractors, manufacturers and others who need space to conduct their own training.

Education

Contractors

One of the primary goals of the Colorado Roofing Association is to educate its members. To reach this, CRA holds a variety of seminars and programs throughout the year that target specific roofing areas with the goal of increasing our membership’s knowledge and awareness of each. Past topics have covered such topics as TPO/EPDM, legal exposures, roofing technical updates, Silica exposure, metal roofing, underlayments, self-adhered membranes, submittal writing, hail damage assessment, healthcare reform, social media marketing, collections, plan reading, mold litigation exposure and felt alternatives.

Consumers

Roofs are a consumer's first line of defence against mother nature. They are one of the most important parts of a home or building because they protect the structure from the natural elements such as wind, rain, fire, ice, snow, extreme heat and hail. If the roof is damaged, there will likely be subsequent problems within the home or building. Over time, if ignored, water leaks can lead to serious problems on the interior including water damage, mold and other structural issues, as well as a roof collapse. The Colorado Roofing Association’s goal is to help homeowners and commercial building owners and managers make informed decisions about replacing and maintaining their roof systems.

Rob McReynolds Raise the Roof Charity Fund

The Rob McReynolds Raise the Roof community outreach fund was established in memory of Rob McReynolds. Rob was a fighter who won - first in wrestling, then in love, and later in business. But like any great fighter, he showed us that life is not about the individual wins. Rather, his life leaves a lasting impact because of how he chose to be accountable to each and every one of the moments in between, all the way through a graceful, life ending battle with Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

He began his 36-year career in the roofing industry in Colorado, and went on to purchase D&D Roofing, Inc. in 1997. Rob was known as much for his enthusiasm and trustworthiness as he was for his work ethic. Through Rob's leadership, D&D earned many workmanship awards from the Colorado Roofing Association (CRA) for 15 consecutive years, and won the prestigious Gold Circle Award for job of the year from the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA). Fittingly, in 2013 Rob won the CRA Lifetime Achievement Award.

Rob was able to influence the standards of an entire industry while serving as director and Board President of the CRA from 2001-2004 and at the national level as a board member, director and vice president of the NRCA. During his CRA Presidency, Rob made community service a priority and always challenged the membership to get involved and give back to the industry. This commitment continued even after leaving the CRA Board.  Rob was always one of the first to step-up and help when it was needed. In establishing this fund, the Colorado Roofing Association wishes to honor his memory and the lasting impression he has made on us and the roofing industry.
