Basic Rooftop Propane Torch Training

Upon registering for CERTA train-the-trainer courses, individuals must attest they have some torch-use experience. This basic half-day course will ensure CERTA trainers have some proficiency with torch use.

During this course, participants will learn how to:

• Perform the basic skills for assembly, testing, lighting and using a roofing torch to adhere polymer-modified bitumen on a mockup
• Practice the hands-on demonstration of a CERTA applicator class
• Identify common torch installation errors and unsafe practices

Note: This course is not a CERTA applicator class nor is it designed to train someone to be an affective polymer-modified bitumen roof system applicator.
