Project profile: MacArthur Park in Oklahoma

Check out an award-winning project that spanned over 29,000 square feet and five different types of roofs.

Every year, the Spray Polyeurathane Foam Alliance (SPFA) hosts their National Industry Excellence Awards. Presented at each SprayFoam Convention and Expo, these awards highlight and honor SPFA contractors’ innovative projects. As it explains on their website, “The projects are judged by an independent panel along with SPFA members, and are scored based on exceptional quality work, the uniqueness of their project, speed of application, ability to solve special problems and challenges, and special safety considerations.” There are seven different categories that projects are divided into for awards. Today, we’re taking a look at the 2025 winner in the Roof Foam Less than 40,000 feet category, Draper Construction & Commercial Roofing, Inc.

The project that Draper submitted was their work on MacArthur Park HOA in Lawton, Oklahoma. This HOA consists of over 50 townhomes with a variety of different flat roof types (five to be precise). This by itself made the project a unique challenge, but that wasn’t the only factor that Draper’s team had to navigate. Because MacArthur Park is such a big community, there was high traffic around the worksite. This meant that, more than ever, the timing of the project had to be intentional and precise. And, where there wasn’t foot traffic, there was 3/4 of a mile of drip edge and 50 AC units to contend with.

But the eight-person team for Draper were ready for the challenge. They applied an Everest basecoat and then two coats of Everest HT in about two weeks. The result? A new roof that not only looks stunning but is incredibly functional. Both the HOA and the individual homeowners were left pleased with the minimal disruption during the work period as well as the decrease in their utility bills that summer.
