By Evelyn Witterholt.

In this application guide for spray roof maintenance coatings, you’ll learn the proper equipment, climate and spraying techniques for EVERROOF coating systems.

Are you a roofing contractor with a big roof coating job coming up? EVERROOF, one of the roofing industry's largest roof coating manufacturers, has a helpful spray roof maintenance coating systems guide to help you on your next commercial roofing project. If you are installing an EVERROOF spray roof coating system, this is the perfect resource for you.

In this guide, you’ll learn all of the best ways to install an EVERROOF spray roof maintenance coating system. The guide begins by suggesting which types of spray equipment are ideal for different types of roofing jobs. EVERROOF suggests using airless spray equipment for large areas of the roof as well as irregular and vertical areas. Gas powered spray equipment is also a good way to apply these types of roofs, but air-atomized applications are not recommended.

Regarding airless spray equipment, the guide states that you must properly maintain and operate this kind of equipment. It says, “Any misuse of spray equipment or accessories (such as over-pressurizing, modified parts, or worn or damaged parts) can result in serious bodily injury, fire, explosion or property damage.”

Luckily the guide provides information about what kind of spray pump you’ll want to use, as well as proper application technique. They suggest that you hold the gun perpendicular to the surface of the roof at a distance of 18” to 24”. They also recommend you use a “half lap” technique where you overlap 50% of each spray pass for more even coverage. The guide states that you must “allow a minimum of 24 hours cure time between coats for cure and solvent evaporation.”
