IKO Launches Two New Cool Roof Colors for California
IKO, a global leader in roofing materials, is expanding its Cool Colors Plus™ lineup with two new shingle options designed to meet California’s cool roof requirements: Harbor Black in the Dynasty® collection and Shoreline Grey in the Cambridge® line.
Harbor Black – The darkest IKO cool roof yet
Harbor Black joins the IKO Dynasty Cool Colors Plus lineup launched in October 2024 with Dual Brown, Graphite Black, Pebble Grey, Bayshore and Coastal Sands as the brand’s deepest shade to date. With its bold, high-definition appearance, it delivers a striking curb appeal.
Shoreline Grey – Light, striking and energy-efficient
Shoreline Grey, part of the IKO Cambridge Cool Colors Plus line, offers a crisp light grey tone with bold dark accents for a refined architectural look.
With Proven Performance at the core, Harbor Black and Shoreline Grey deliver an SRI of 20+, which can be used to meet California Title 24 and LA reflectance standards. Both offer Class 3 impact resistance* with heavy-duty laminated construction that may qualify homeowners for insurance discounts. As part of the Dynasty line, Harbor Black features ArmourZone® technology for easier installation, stronger nail hold and wind resistance up to 130 mph (210 km/h). All Cool Colors Plus shingles exceed reflectivity standards by up to 25%, helping reduce attic heat and improve indoor comfort.

IKO Metals Residential Metal Roofing
IKO North America proudly celebrated the official grand opening of its newest manufacturing facility dedicated to producing IKO Metals Residential Metal Roofing products in Ennis, Texas. The milestone event marked the culmination of a multi-phase $60 million investment project, the creation of up to 90 new jobs and a significant modernization of IKO Metals’ North American manufacturing capabilities.
This new plant reflects IKO’s ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability and community partnerships in regions where it operates.
- 205,000 sq. ft. facility situated on a 42-acre site
- Dedicated to manufacturing stone-coated metal roofing in tile, shake and shingle profiles under the DECRA® and Tilcor brands
- Utilizes a proprietary stone-coating process, fusing natural stone granules with multi-layered steel for unmatched strength, beauty and weather resistance
- Expected to support 90 full-time positions at full operation
- Total investment: $60 million
- Serves growing North American demand for durable, sustainable and aesthetically versatile roofing systems
