Joe Sorrentino, RRO is owner of JoeSorrentino LLC, an educational and marketing consulting firm. He is available on a consulting basis to assist stakeholders in the roofing industry with his decades of service and expertise. Joe retired from Sherwin Williams in April of 2025. He joined The Sherwin Williams Company roofing team in March of 2015 as Government/Public Sector Sales Manager/Special Projects. He served as commercial roofing training & development manager. Joe was responsible for the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs for SW Roofing Solutions Team Members (existing and on-boarding), independent sales representatives, Sherwin Williams commercial paint stores employees, professional roofing contractors, building owners, specifiers and influencers, independent distribution employees, as well as other external and internal stakeholders. Joe developed and delivered CEU Courses for the understanding of sustainability of roofing assemblies. 

Joe also served as Market Development Manager for the UNIFLEX brand supporting the owner/property manager and design community (architect, engineer, roof consultant) for sustainable, renewable labor & material warranty programs for the service life of the facility. His role included participation in IIBEC, NRCA, AIA, CSI, FRSA and RCMA. Joe is still active in the roofing related/AEC associations. He completed is career as Florida Regional Sales Manager for GEOCEL and Kool Seal Roofing Coatings where he attained Presidents Sales Excellence Awards five (5) consecutive years. 

Joe has over 48 years of experience in the low-slope commercial roofing industry. He has experience in the field of sustainable roofing systems since 1985. He started his roofing career as a commercial roofing sales representative for Owens/Corning Fiberglas in Charlotte, NC in 1977. During his years in the roofing industry, he has held positions of regional and national technical manager for single-ply and modified bitumen roofing systems, regional sales manager for a leading protective and maintenance coatings products manufacturer and business development manager for a national facilities engineering/roof consulting firm. He has worked closely with owners, property managers, contractors and specifiers nationwide. 

The Registered Roof Observer designation (RRO) by RCI (now IIBEC) was earned in June of 2016. Joe is active in IIBEC as a participant for the Mentoring Program of RCI /IIBEC since 2017. The Florida Chapter Of IIBEC awarded Joe the 2023 Mentor Of The Year Award. 

Joe received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from Florida Southern College, Lakeland, FL in 1977. He resides with his wife in Clearwater, Florida.
