General Coatings Products Featured in Award-winning Sphere Project

General Coatings products helped make one of the world's most challenging roofing projects possible, earning industry recognition through SPFA's 2026 National Industry Excellence Award.

The Sphere Las Vegas has become one of the world's most recognizable structures, and the roofing system hidden beneath its iconic exterior is now receiving industry-wide recognition. The Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) awarded its 2026 National Industry Excellence Award in the Roof Greater Than 40,000 Square Feet category to the Sphere project, which utilized General Coatings' SPF and coating technologies to address one of the most complex roofing geometries ever constructed. Installed by Commercial Roofers, Inc.

To meet the project's unique demands, contractor Commercial Roofers, Inc. installed a roofing system featuring General Coatings Ultra-Thane 230 spray polyurethane foam and Ultra-Flex elastomeric coatings. The SPF system allowed the roofing assembly to conform seamlessly to the structure's complex contours while delivering a lightweight, durable and weather-tight solution.
