Since 1886, the National Roofing Contractors Association has been the home for generations of entrepreneurial craftsmen and enterprises who shelter and protect America's families and businesses and each other.
Our vision is the recognition of our members as professionals and to unite the industry to that purpose.
NRCA is one of the construction industry's most respected trade associations and the voice of roofing professionals and the leading authority in the roofing industry for information, education, technology and advocacy.
NRCA represents all segments of the roofing industry, including contractors; manufacturers; distributors; architects; consultants; engineers; building owners; and city, state and government agencies.
To foster an educational and collaborative experience, Roofing Day in D.C. features expert speakers and panelists to inform and inspire attendees, who participate in an afternoon of meetings with their members of Congress and their staffs. Attendees have ample opportunity to network and connect with fellow professionals and are encouraged to bring key employees to the event.
This year, our advocacy issues will focus on workforce challenges and affordable housing.

The Dignity Act (H.R. 4393), backed by the NRCA, pairs stronger border security with immigration reforms to address severe workforce shortages in industries like roofing. It provides long-term undocumented individuals a path to lawful status through work, service or education, while expanding training for U.S. workers. With labor shortages costing billions annually, the NRCA emphasizes that immigration reform is vital to sustaining the roofing workforce and urges contractors to stay engaged, advocate and ensure compliance.

The skilled labor gap isn’t coming…it’s already here. Every year, fewer young people enter the trades, even as demand continues to rise. But there’s hope. The SkillsUSA Commercial Roofing Competition isn’t just a contest.
This is where you come in: Roofing companies, vendors, manufacturers and organizations all have a role to play. By supporting SkillsUSA, you’re helping students earn credentials, build portfolios and step directly into the workforce.
SkillsUSA is a workforce development organization that represents more than 400,000 career and technical education students and teachers. The SkillsUSA National Championships is a student competition adopted by trade schools and sponsored by local industry.
This partnership between industry leaders, students and instructors is aimed at building a future skilled workforce. Students have the chance to compete in regional, state and national contests.
If your school is already part of SkillsUSA, the roofing community would love to help you start a roofing program. Find a local contractor who can provide materials and hands-on instruction assistance.
And NRCA can provide curriculum free of charge! To create an account for your school, contact NRCA Director of Workforce Development Shane Muncy.
Commercial property owners now can take advantage of enhanced Section 179 tax benefits that make reroofing projects significantly more affordable and financially strategic. Under the new law, the Section 179 expensing cap has increased from $1 million to $2.5 million for qualified nonresidential property—including roofing. This means a qualifying building owner can immediately deduct the full cost of any improvements to nonresidential roofs, including full reroofing projects of existing buildings, up to $2.5 million for purchases.
Immigration resourcesNRCA has curated specific immigration resources being asked by contractors today. Stay ahead and prepared in today’s roofing industry (for members only).
The National Roofing Contractors Association has released The NRCA Roofing Manual: Steep-slope Roof Systems—2025 to provide the roofing industry with the most comprehensive information about the design, materials and installation techniques applicable to steep-slope roof system applications.
