Quietly revolutionizing roof repair

Quietly revolutionizing roof repair

A rare sealant that actually sticks to silicone is making waves with contractors.

In a crowded field of roof coating solutions, Everest Systems has introduced a standout product that’s turning heads for its performance and reliability. In this episode of CoatingsCast, Rick Murphy, the technical support and specifications director at Everest Systems, sat down with host Karen Edwards to explain why EverSeal, a plasticizer-free sealant, is earning its reputation as the go-to solution in the roofing industry.

“It works for multiple surfaces,” Rick said. “You can put it over acrylics, you can put it over metal, you can put it over single-ply, you can put it over asphalt. It will also stick to silicone. Nothing sticks to silicone, but EverSeal does.”

What makes EverSeal remarkable is more than just its stickiness. It’s what’s not in it: plasticizers, a common additive in many sealants that can degrade performance over time. “Other manufacturers look at that and they say, ‘Well, you can make more money if you put plasticizers or some other fillers in there,’ but that’s not what we do,” Rick said. “We’re trying to manufacture the best products that we can for a fair price.”

This isn’t just sales talk. Rick recounted a personal experience where a competing product failed on a job site. “That product, just in six months' time, over half of it had gone away and it was very shocking,” he said. In contrast, EverSeal is designed for long-term resilience, even on problem areas like seams and fasteners that take the brunt of weather exposure.

Available in everything from small tubes to five-gallon pails, EverSeal also comes in a pumpable version for large jobs. It's versatile enough to be applied with traditional caulking guns or commercial grade coating rigs, offering scalability from minor repairs to full roof restorations.

Its performance in extreme conditions — including the rare ability to bond to damp surfaces — makes it an invaluable asset for contractors dealing with unpredictable weather and tight project timelines.

“If you could only have one of our products, EverSeal would be the one that works everywhere,” Rick said. “If you ask my wife, she said, ‘You can even put soles back on shoes.’”

While that might not be its intended use, this anecdote reflects the confidence and loyalty the product inspires.
