From reducing urban heat index to extending the life of the roofing membrane and reducing cooling costs inside the building, the value of incorporating vegetation into a roof system goes far beyond the lush aesthetics of a green roof. In an upcoming episode of CoatingsTalk, Heidi J. Ellsworth invites two of SOPREMA’s team members to talk about how green roofs are opening up a world of environmental, social and economic benefits for building owners, architects and installers.
One of the guests is Angie Durham, the technical sales support representative at SOPREMA. Angie joined SOPREMA’s team about a year ago and brings over two decades of vegetated roof professional experience. The episode will also feature John Parker, one of SOPREMA’s architectural sales representatives. Like Angie, John has a wide range of experience with green roofs, including managing an organization called District Green Roofs, which is a “DC-based CBE dedicated to creation, regeneration and maintenance of sustainable environments.”
This expert duo will explore the benefits of green roofs on a variety of scales. From the increased energy efficiency and property value they offer individual building owners to the larger community benefits to biodiversity and air quality. They will also dive into how SOPREMA is supporting and leading this sector with their SOPRANATURE® line. This green roof system is designed to give flexibility and customization to the design process. The various products offered through SOPRANATURE can be built on site or ordered in modular packages, making them perfect to meet the needs of any project they are used on.
Attendees will also leave with a clear understanding of how these green roof systems are not only initially installed but also maintained and cared for in the long run. From information about training to working with vegetation to understanding the irrigation and drainage requirements of a green roof, this is the perfect place to start your journey into the green roof sector!
This CoatingsTalk will air live on June 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. PT. Register now to save your spot!
